Tu Pizza

These are from before I left. With my comp from the CCM
The bus in the horizon Sydney rode to her new home,
A festival.
Presidente and Hermana Dyer
I asked for a picture of her at the internet place and of course a silly picture!

So, to travel to Tupiza, I took a plane to Sucre, which was only like
20 minutes. Then a taxi to Potosi, which was about 2 hours. Then a
double-decked bus for only about 7 hour. It was a LONG trip. And from
the airport in Cochabamba, there were about 20 missionaries, and we
gradually lost them in the other cities. In the end, it was just one
Elder and I in a nice road trip to Tupiza. But we made it here safe and sound!

I really love Tupiza. It´s a cute little town. Like, if Tipp City and
Bolivia had a baby, it would be Tupiza. And if you´re not from my
city, that probably didn´t make sense. And it´s pretty chilly here,
like Ohio fall weather, and there have randomly been parades here all
week. They´re celebrating...something. I really have no idea. But it
reminds me a little of my mum festival days.

My companion is super sweet! Her name is Hermana N.. She is from Peru,
has 7 months in the mission, and only one month here in Tupiza. But
the sister I came to replace was here for 7 months...So we think we´re
going to be here for a while.

We had conference with President and Hermana Dyer on Saturday, their
last one before they leave and the new president comes. Usually we
travel to Sucre for conferences, since our zone is little and far
away, but this time President came to Tupiza. Since our zone is
closest to Argentine, and is in an area where President Dyer served
his mission, it´s special to him, so they made the trip all the way
out here for our conference. (side note, it´s President´s favorite
part of the mission, and Hermana N. and I are the only sisters in
the whole zone, so we must be his favorite sister missionaries,
right?) But it was a really great conference, and President and
Hermana Dyer dressed up like Cholitas!

I am really happy here in Tupiza, and I am looking forward to being
here for a while.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Love, Hermana Wingate

I`m going to America

It just randomly said cats, so I have to get a picture with it, obviously.
The red door, you might not be able to tell, but when we
knocked this dog jumped up and put his face in that little hole.

Well, kind of. I am being transferred tomorrow to a ward named
America. And when I first heard it, I thought I was going back to my
old zone, because there is a ward named America. BUT, I`m actually
leaving Cochabamba, to America in TUPIZA! Which is just a city outside
of Cochabamba. I think it`s pretty far away. And I`ll get a nice, new
Latina companion. I am really excited.

But I am sad to leave this area! I`ve only been here a little less
than 2 weeks, but I really love everyone here! The members we live
with are really fun, and our pensionista is HILARIOUS! It stinks that
I have to leave them. BUT, I am a little relieved that I am not
staying and Hermana Worthy, my North American comp, leaving. I do not
know the area AT ALL, and I was really nervous. I didn`t want to lose
all of their investigators because I didn`t know where they live.

This week we had a super good lesson with this lady named K. She
talks a lot, and has a lot of opinions about different religions, but
she always listens to what we have to say, and is always really open
to it. So, we were teaching the first lesson, and talking about
prophets, and asked us if we thought that God would ever call another
prophet...Well, yes! We talked about the restoration of the church
through Joseph Smith, and that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today,
and she was so excited! She wanted to learn more, and hear President
Monson speak. So we left her the restoration video, and brought her a
Liahona( Church magazine) with conference talks from last year. I am so excited that she
is so excited! Haha. I will definitely be calling Hermana Worthy to
see how the area is going.

I probably will be outside of Cochabamba for a while. Usually when
people are sent to Sucre or Potosi or Tupiza, or anywhere outside, they`re
there for a good 6 months. PLUS, we`re about to get a new mission
president, so we don`t know how many changes he will make at first,
since he`ll still be getting used to everything. But it will be fine!
People usually LOVE their areas outside of Cochabamba.

I am really glad that I am here. Things feel like they are getting a
lot better. I am not sick, I`ve had a lot of really spiritual lessons
this last week, and my Spanish is starting to get a lot better. My
district leader has told me several times how good my Spanish is,
because I speak with confidence. Which is a pretty big compliment,
since his native language is Spanish. Ayyyyyyy.

I am excited to go to my new area. I hope everything at home is going
well. I love you!

Cambios de Emergencia

My new Companion, Hermana Worthy
An octopus that is in a park in this area.
The door says I want your
kisses. But I want is spelled wrong. It should be quiero, but it says
kiero. We thought it was pretty funny.

Sooooo, this week we had interviews with President. , I am with another North American Sister.
Which is super weird in this mission, because almost all
companionship's are either two Latinos, or a North American and a
Latino. But actual transfers are only in a week, and President told my
North American Companion that she will be training this transfer, so I will
more than likely be transferred again in a week.

We work hard and have a ton of appointments. I`ve had so manymore opportunities to teach. This is really what I thought my mission
would be like.

And a lot of people have been telling me that my Spanish is good,
especially for the amount of time I have been here. That makes me feel
pretty good about myself. Haha.  I hardly ever had time for
language study. (we are supposed to have a hour of language study
everyday.) I know that the gift of tongues is real, and I can see the
blessings I have received already for my efforts, and the desire I
truly have to learn.

It was sad to have to leave my first area and all of the people I knew
there, but I know that this exchange was inspired. I feel so good
here, and I feel like I am doing some hard work for
The Lord.

And my sister is on her mini mission this week, so my mom has two
missionaries out right now! So she might be bored at home, if anyone
wants to take her out to lunch!

I love and miss everyone at home! Have a great week!
Lunch with Hermanas and Elders at Hermana Lily's

Nueva Casita

Comforter set finally made it after 3 months in transit!
Four Hermanas that will share house.

Thank you to everyone who wrote to me this week! I am sorry to hear about the flood! That really stinks. But I am also so proud of my home ward for all of the service that they did. And thank you to everyone who was worried for my health. I am doing a whole lot better! I`m back to about 99%. The only thing is I still can`t eat a whole lot. Mostly a lunch. They eat a ton at lunch here, and I can`t keep up!
We found a really great family this week. They`re been inactive for about 5 years, but the dad was really excited to have us visit, and came to church the next day! His youngest son is 13 and hasn`t been baptized, so we`re going to start teaching him the lessons. I feel especially connected to their family, because it is pretty similar to how my family was. We were inactive for about 5 years, too, and then my sister took the lessons and was baptized. And my step dad! I am really excited for them, and happy to see how happy they seem already.
Oh, and we`re moving tomorrow! The other Hermanas in our area had to move, and they couldn`t find a house for just the 2 of them, so we have to move with them to help pay for it. It`s actually a pretty nice little apartment. It`s a little far from our area, but not too far from Hermana Lily, just in case we need anything.
I don`t have a whole lot of time to write today, because I had a ton of emails to respond to. But I am absolutely fine with that. I LOVE hearing from people, and hearing how they`re doing. Seriously, everyone, feel free to write to me!
Two quick stories. Yesterday we had lunch with a sister who`s son is on a mission in Brazil. She can`t write, so my companion wrote down what she wanted to say to her son, and we`re mailing it to him today. And she is learning how to write so she can write to him. It`s the most precious thing of my whole life.
The second, Hermana Santeco and my companions were talking about anti frizz, for their hair. But they pronounced it like anti freeze, and I was like, why the heck do they need anti freeze?! Then I realized what they were talking about, and tried to laugh about it with

That is Hermana Boyle. I talked to her on Facebook a lot before I came out, and she just came out this transfer!
Three Hermanas taking care of Hermana Wingate!

Hermana Santeco...and she didn`t know what anti freeze was...because she is from Hawaii...
Okay, everyone have a good week!
